Miracle Glass: poem by Charles Simic, image by Geoffe

Here is more of this photographer’s remarkable work. When I saw this image I was reminded of this poem by Charles Simic, poet laureate of the US in 2007.

Miracle Glass Co.
Charles Simic

Heavy mirror carried
Across the street,
I bow to you
And to everything that appears in you,
And never again the same way:

this street with its pink sky,
Row of gray tenements,
A lone dog,
Children on rollerskates,
Woman buying flowers,
Someone looking lost.

In you, mirror framed in gold
And carried across the street
By someone I can’t even see,
To whom, too, I bow.

By the way, I found Geoffe’s blog full of wonderful, witty images via Alpha Inventions which zips blogs with new posts by you at a rapid rate exposing you to cool blogs with the freshest material! (when it’s working right!)
